A Mis Match Concert - presented by L Chic

This promises to be an afternoon of delightful entertainment in one of Amsterdam's most beautiful settings. Our very own Ian Spencer, his wife Carole and three of their professional musical friends are presenting a programme of works from the classic romantic repertoire through to the musical genre. Soprano, bass, flute and piano.

"A Mis Match" concert draws on the idea of couples or situations which we all know will simply never work. Take for example the bass ... will he ever win the heart of the soprano? Or think of the many questions that are posed, which require no answer.

This concert will delight its audience with topics such as Beauty and the Beast, Cinderella and her Prince, musical characters asking questions such as "where is the life that late I led?"

Tickets will be available on the door or can be ordered in advance.

Cost: 15 euros (10 euros for 65+ / children under 16)

The English Bookshop and BritSoc have joined together to bring you our first Trivial Pursuit Event!!

Do you know who was Winnie the Pooh's best friend or in which year the King James' Bible was first published? Together with the British Society we will be holding our first ever book trivial pursuit game at the bookshop. This is a board game based on the "original" trivial pursuit but as the name suggests, the questions will all relate to books in some category or another.

You can come as a ready made team, join with others on the night to form a team or even play individually (if you dare!). This is guaranteed to be a hilarious evening out.

There will be some hot and cold liquid refreshments available but make sure you have a snacked beforehand if case we play late into the night!

Please let us know if you will join us as we expect this event to be very popular and space is limited.

See you on Friday October 15th - Liesl
